"Flowers are my muses. Their inherent beauty, mystery, and impermanence inspire me. The reverse on glass indigo paintings attempt to render the luminosity that reflects the otherworldliness of flowers. My recent watercolors + ink on paper were done swiftly, hoping to mirror the joy, secrecy, and magic of photosynthesis. Painting two or three flowers together creates a relationship that I find captivating. Having grown up in Manhattan, Springs, and now living in Tesuque, New Mexico, I am also inspired by light and darkness, from the ocean to the mountain desert, and how it lands on and around my flowers."
